SANTA ANITA - INFORMATION ON MY SYSTEM

THERE IS NO RACING AT SANTA ANITA TODAY.

Here is some information about my system for the new people.

My system does not use computer generated selections. All selections are made with an ordinary home calculator and ink pen.I use the assigned weight of the jockey (better horses are assigned more weight), the horses best two speed ratings of his last 3 races (how fast he ran for the conditions). I use the last three places the horse finished in his races ( was he placed at the right level by the trainer). I adjust ratings for turf to dirt and dirt to turf (most horses run faster on the turf). I also make an adjustment for the distance of the race.

I have a mathmatical formula I created over a 5 year period over 25 years ago.The final number that I list after each selection has taken in all these factors. A horse should have had 3 races for the figure to be completely accurate. I do list a figure if a horse has run only 1 race but he may not repeat the effort the same way.

A difference of 5 points on the top selection from the 2nd selection should be a good bet. Any horses within 5 points have a good chance of beating him to the finish. We all know that the best horse does not always win. Stumbles, clipped heels, no racing room and boxed in on the rail and most of all Jockeys dumb decisions account for most horses problems.

I hope this helps our new followers understand the system better and how the selections are made. Watch the point differences between the selections and then make your decision on how to bet the race.I wish you the most important factor of all GOOD LUCK.

Race 5- 3rd pick won (7.40) 4th pick 2nd (10.80) top pick 3rd (2.40) Picks boxed- Ex (40.20) Trifecta (109.90). Race 6-Top 1st timer won (8.40) top pick 2nd (4.00) Ex- (13.70) 3rd pick 3rd (3.40) Trifecta (54.70). Race 7- Top pick 2nd (3.20). Race 8- 4th pick 2nd (6.80) top p[ick 3rd (2.40) 2nd pick 4th. Race 9- 2nd pick won (4.20) 3rd pick 2nd (4.00) 3rd 1st timer 3rd (10.80) top 1st timer 4th. top 3 picks boxed- Ex (7.10).

THERE IS NO RACING AT SANTA ANITA TODAY.

Some questions answered.

Why do I post 4 horses for each race? I post 4 horses with their ratings for each race as my figures are made and usually posted before scratches. If one is scratched you would still have 3 selections. I also like to play superfectas and trifectas with my system and to box the different horses or key the top horses to the others.

Recap payouts - I list the payouts on the minimum bet such as a $1 trifecta, $2 Quinella, $1 Exacta, $1 Superfecta, etc. as given by the track results. I have a small advantage betting here in Reno on Quinellas at the racebook I go to as they offer a "house Q"- this is 1/2 the win price times the place horses price. Then they pay either the track payout or the "house Q" payout, and I receive the highest of the two.

Are my listed horses in the order that they should be bet? N0- I have pointed out the 5 point difference rule many many times( see yesterdays post). Also the 1st time starters cannot be rated under my system and they must always be considered. I do try to list the 1st time starters in the order I believe they will finish. If there are a couple of high rated horses and then a gap between the next horse's figure I would usually include the 1st timer. If his works are very good I would also include him.

Do I make money all the time? I make money over a longer period of time but I have streaks just like every bettor does. I have a very good day for me with the trifectas. The next racing day????

I post my picks with the ratings, I post the payouts that were possible if you used the picks. How you bet the picks is the key. My top horse wins alot but many of the payouts are small. If the 5 point rule is there I may bet the 2nd or 3rd horse to win. I only make win bets (no place or show) unless the odds are very high on my selection, then I may make a place bet. I never make a show bet. I like to key my horses that stand out with their ratings and or box 3 or 4 horses for my trifectas and superfectas. If I make a quinella bet I usually box three horses unless I have a standout to key and then I key that horse to three others.

I hope this has answered some of the questions that you have about my system. I post information on the system on non racing days at the Southern Calif. tracks. You can go back on my posts on those days for more information. The best handicapping tool you can have? GOOD LUCK.

ALWAYS REMEMBER- The 5 point difference between horses rule - Any horse that is rated within 5 points of each other has a good chance of beating each other on any given day. You should also consider a horse who is dropping or moving up in class. If drop is large enough he may be very competitive with the horses at this level. SANTA ANITA - ABOUT MY HANDICAPPING SYSTEM

THERE IS NO RACING AT SANTA ANITA TODAY.

Here is some information about my system for the new people.

My system does not use computer generated selections. All selections are made with an ordinary home calculator and ink pen.

I use the assigned weight of the jockey (better horses are assigned more weight), the horses best two speed ratings of his last 3 races (how fast he ran for the conditions). I use the last three places the horse finished in his races ( was he placed at the right level by the trainer). I adjust ratings for turf to dirt and dirt to turf (most horses run faster on the turf). I also make an adjustment for the distance of the race.I have a mathmatical formula I created over a 5 year period over 25 years ago.

The final number that I list after each selection has taken in all these factors. A horse should have had 3 races for the figure to be completely accurate. I do list a figure if a horse has run only 1 race but he may not repeat the effort the same way.A difference of 5 points on the top selection from the 2nd selection should be a good bet.

Watch the point differences between the selections and then make your decision on how to bet the race.

I wish you the most important factor of all GOOD LUCK.

SANTA ANITA -INFORMATION ABOUT MY SYSTEM

THERE IS NO RACING AT SANTA ANITA TODAY. RACING WILL RESUME THURS. 1/19/2006.

I also make an adjustment for the distance of the race.

I have a mathmatical formula I created over a 5 year period over 25 years ago. The final number that I list after each selection has taken in all these factors. A horse should have had 3 races for the figure to be completely accurate. I do list a figure if a horse has run only 1 race but he may not repeat the effort the same way.

A difference of 5 points on the top selection from the 2nd selection should be a good bet. Any horses within 5 points have a good chance of beating him to the finish. We all know that the best horse does not always win. Stumbles, clipped heels, no racing room and boxed in on the rail and most of all Jockeys dumb decisions account for most horses problems.

hope this helps our new followers understand the system better and how the selections are made. Watch the point differences between the selections and then make your decision on how to bet the race.

I wish you the most important factor of all GOOD LUCK.

SANTA ANITA - GENERAL INFORMATION AND MON. RECAP

THERE IS NO RACING AT SANTA ANITA TODAY. RACING WILL RESUME ON THURS.

Mon. recap- Race 1- 4th pick won (5.40) 2nd pick 2nd (3.40) top pick 3rd (2.20) Trifecta (19.10) Ex (7.80). Race 2- 2nd pick won (4.60) top pick 3rd (2.60) 1 pick scratched. Race 3- Our 2nd and 3rd picks had dead heat for the win - (3.80 w 3.80 pl) (6.00 w 6.00 pl) Ex (3.80) 4th pick 3rd (4.20) Picks boxed- You would have both trifectas (65.00) (53.80). top pick ran 4th. Race 4- 2nd pick won (26.60). Race 6- 2nd pick 2nd (4.80) 3rd pick 3rd (6.20). Race 7- 4th pick won (7.20) top pick 2nd (8.80) 3rd pick 4th, picks boxed- Ex (36.50). Race 8- Entry ran 1st and 3rd (2.20 w 2.10 s) 2nd pick 2nd (2.10) Ex (2.70). Race 9- 2nd pick 2nd (9.00) top 1st timer 3rd (9.40) 3rd pick 4th.

Some general information-

Santa Anita has one of the most unusal and beautiful turf course in the 6 1/2 furlong down hill. Most bettors think the inside posts are the place to be. I have found that the horses with the outside posts tend to do better on the downhill course.

Another mistake that bettors make is they believe the turf course is softer than the normal track. The turf is harder and faster than the normal track. The speed figures need to be adjusted for this when a horse is changing from one surface to the other.

I also have noticed that 1st time starters tend to have problems when their first start is from post position # 1 on the main track. The horse tends to break toward the rail and thus does not break as fast as the others. This is also true with a 1st timer starting from the far outside post. He will tend to break to his right. Naturally this is not true for all 1st time starters but it must be considered while handicapping the race.

REMEMBER- 1st time starters cannot be rated with my system. They must be considered. I will list the 1st timers in the order I believe they will finish.

The same is true with a horse moving up the class level. If the jump in class is too much he may have a difficult time being competetive with these horses.

SANTA ANITA -

There is no horse racing at Santa Anita Today. Racing resumes tomorrow- Wed. ($167,00 pick-six carry over.

I hope this helps our new followers understand the system better and how the selections are made. Watch the point differences between the selections and then make your decision on how to bet the race.I wish you the most important factor of all GOOD LUCK.

Race 5- Top pick won (4.20) 2nd pick 2nd (3.20) Ex (5.60) 3rd pick 3rd (3.40) Trifecta in order (22.00) 1 pick was scratched. Race 6- Our 4 picks boxed gave superfecta (296.60) Trifecta (90.40) 4th pick won (10.60) top pick 2nd (6.20) Ex (30.70) 3rd pick 3rd (2.60) 2nd pick 4th. Race 7- Top pick 2nd (5.00) Race 8- 4th pick 3rd (11.40) 3rd pick 4th. Race 9- 3rd pick 4th.

N0- I have pointed out the 5 point difference rule many many times (see Jan. 8 post).

The next racing day????I post my picks with the ratings, I post the payouts that were possible if you used the picks.

GOOD LUCK.

Race 7- (off turf- 2 picks scratched) 2nd pick won (6.20) 1st pick 4th. Race 8- 2nd pick won (7.20).

The same is true with a horse moving up the class level. If the jump in class is too much he may have a difficult time being competetive with these horses.

SANTA ANITA -INFORMATION ABOUT MY SYSTEM

There is no horse racing at Santa Anita Today. Racing resumes tomorrow.

Stumbles, clipped heels, no racing room and boxed in on the rail and most of all Jockeys dumb decisions account for most horses problems.I hope this helps our new followers understand the system better and how the selections are made. Watch the point differences between the selections and then make your decision on how to bet the race.

I wish you the most important factor of all GOOD LUCK.

SANTA ANITA - SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED & MON. RECAP

NO RACING TODAY AT SANTA ANITA - RACING WILL RESUME THURSDAY.

Mon. recap- Track was listed as sloppy all day. Heavy rains all day. Another day with a large number of scratches. All turf races were on main track.

Race 1- 2 picks left after scratches- 2nd pick won (14.20). Race 2- Top pick won (5.00) 2nd pick 3rd (2.60) 3rd pick 4th. Race 3- 3 picks left after scratches - Boxed- Trifecta (45.30) Ex (13.10) 3rd pick won (9.80) 2nd pick 2nd (3.60) top pick 3rd (2.40). Race 4- 2 picks left after scratches. Top pick 3rd (2.40) 2nd pick 2nd (3.00). Race 5- 3 picks left after scratches- 3rd pick 2nd (3.00) 2nd pick 3rd (3.60) top pick 4th. Race 6-2nd pick won (6.40) 4th pick 4th. Race 7- 3 picks & one 1st timer left after scratches. 1st timer won (8.60) top pick 2nd (2.60) 3rd pick 3rd, 1st timer keyed or boxed with 2 top picks- Ex (7.80) Trifecta (22.50). Race 8-3 picks left after scratches. Boxed- Trifecta (60.90) Ex (20.10) 2nd pick won (11.00) 3rd pick 2nd (5.00) top pick 3rd (3.20). Race 9- 4th pick won (32.20) top 1st timer 2nd (6.00) Top pick 3rd (2.40) 2nd pick 4th. Picks boxed with top 1st timer - Ex (14.50) Trifecta (441.10) Superfecta (1,492.90).

N0- I have pointed out the 5 point difference rule many many times (see Dec 23 post).

GOOD LUCK.
