SANTA ANITA - HANDICAPPING PICKS AND SELECTIONS FOR FRI.
Thur. recap- A very good day today. We had the late pick-4, 2 pick-3's, 3 Daily Doubles, all with top horse as key plus 5 Exatas and 3 trifectas out of the 7 races that could be handicapped. Race 1- All were 1st time starters, 2yr olds, winner paid $115.40, enough said. Race 2- 3rd pick won (4.60) top pick 2nd (3.40) 2nd pick 3rd (2.60) top 3 boxed- Ex (8.60) Trifecta (21.30) 4th pick 4th. Race 3- 3rd pick won (18.20) 2nd pick 3rd (3.20). Race 4-3rd pick won (6.00) 4th pick 2nd (5.00) top pick 3rd (2.40) picks boxed- Ex (17.90) Trifecta (54.40). Race 5- 1 pick scratched, Top pick won (6.60) 3rd pick 2nd (4.40) 2nd pick 4th, top pick keyed- Ex (15.80). Race 6- Top pick won (5.80) Daily Double (22.40) 3rd pick 2nd (4.60) 4th pick 3rd (3.40) top pick keyed- Ex (12.70) Trifecta (45.30). ALWAYS REMEMBER- The 5 point difference between horses rule - Any horse that is rated within 5 points of each other has a good chance of beating each other on any given day. You should also consider a horse who is dropping or moving up in class. If drop is large enough he may be very competitive with the horses at this level. The same is true with a horse moving up the class level. If the jump in class is too much he may have a difficult time being competitive with these horses.
