HOLLYWOOD PARK - SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Sun. recap- Race 1- Top pick won (4.80) 2nd pick 2nd (2.60) Ex (4.50) Q (4.40) 3rd pick 3rd (2.20) Trifecta in order (8.30). Race 2- 2nd pick won (11.00) top pick - entry- ran 2nd & 3rd (2.10) ( 2.10) Ex (8.20) Q (3.00) our 2nd first time starter ran 4th for the trifecta (14.30). Race 3- Top pick won (5.80) 4th pick 2nd (3.00) 3rd pick 3rd, entry (2.10) top pick keyed or boxed with others- Trifecta (14.40) Ex (7.20) Q (7.00). Race 4- Top pick 2nd (2.80) 2nd pick won (6.40) boxed- Ex (9.80) Q (8.00) 3rd pick 3rd (2.40) Trifecta (21.00). Race 5- Top 1st timer won (9.80) 2nd pick 2nd, we only had 2 picks that had run (3.60) 3rd 1st timer ran 3rd (3.20) Ex (15.50) Q (14.80) trifecta (80.60). Some questions answered.
I have been receiving requests to teach my system step by step from several of you fellow bettors in order that you can use it at different tracks. This is something that I have thought about over the years as many of my friends have wanted the same thing. I decided against this as I live in Reno Nv and enter different handicapping contests and Double Quinella contests and I do not want to compete against my own figures. I will continue to post my top 4 figures in each race for the Southern Calif. tracks on racing days. It does work at all tracks without having to make adjustments so don't worry about a horse that has shipped in from another track. His figure should be valid.
Why do I post 4 horses for each race? I post 4 horses with their ratings for each race as my figures are made and usually posted before scratches. If one is scratched you would still have 3 selections. I also like to play superfectas and trifectas with my system and to box the different horses or key the top horses to the others.
Recap payouts - I list the payouts on the minimum bet such as a $1 trifecta, $2 Quinella, $1 Exacta, $1 Superfecta, etc. as given by the track results. I have a small advantage betting here in Reno on Quinellas at the racebook I go to as they offer a "house Q"- this is 1/2 the win price times the place horses price. Then they pay either the track payout or the "house Q" payout, and I receive the highest of the two.
Are my listed horses in the order that they should be bet? N0- I have pointed out the 5 point difference rule many many times (see Nov. 22 post). Also the 1st time starters cannot be rated under my system and they must always be considered. I do try to list the 1st time starters in the order I believe they will finish. If there are a couple of high rated horses and then a gap between the next horse's figure I would usually include the 1st timer. If his works are very good I would also include him.
Do I make money all the time? I make money over a longer period of time but I have streaks just like every bettor does. Yesterday was a very good day for me with the trifectas. The next racing day???? I post my picks with the ratings, I post the payouts that were possible if you used the picks. How you bet the picks is the key. My top horse wins alot but many of the payouts are small. If the 5 point rule is there I may bet the 2nd or 3rd horse to win. I only make win bets (no place or show) unless the odds are very high on my selection, then I may make a place bet. I never bet a show bet. I like to key my horses that stand out with their ratings and or box 3 or 4 horses for my trifectas and superfectas. If I make a quinella bet I usually box three horses unless I have a standout to key and then I key that horse to three others.
